Waterfront of Magok

The project for the Magok waterfront stems from the competition’s goal of transforming the area into a new gateway to the city of Seoul. The proposal extends the course of the Han River inland, shaping an artificial lake around which a system of promontories, islands, and canals is organized. These elements define a new urban and landscape geography capable of accommodating diverse functions and enriching the public usability of the area. The intervention interprets the waterfront as a space of connection between the city, water, and landscape, reinforcing Magok’s strategic role within the urban structure of Seoul.
