Prototypes of prefabricated postal offices

The project develops a new prototype of prefabricated Postal Office (UP), conceived as a modular, flexible and rapid architectural system new construction, easily installable and adaptable to the different urban contexts of the Italian national territory.

The UP is available in three size configurations – 80, 120 and 160 square meters – obtained by aggregating modules dedicated to the front office, back office and consulting functions, in order to meet the different operational needs.

Organized on a single level and built with a steel supporting structure, the UP is characterized by a compact volume, defined by the alternation of opaque surfaces and large windows. The external envelope, made of a micro-perforated metallic skin, reinterprets the profile of the postage stamp and translates its identity value into a contemporary architectural element. In addition to defining the image of the building, the cladding contributes to solar shading, improving indoor comfort and energy performance.
