Adriatic Tourist Cycle Path

The project concerns the new construction Molisano Coastal Cycle Path, which is part of the broader Adriatica Tourist Cycle Path program and is funded under the PNRR – Measure M2C2 – 4.1 “Strengthening Cycling Mobility”.

The intervention concerns the coastal stretch of the Molise Region, from the border with Abruzzo, at Marina di Montenero, to the border with Puglia, near the mouth of the Saccione River. The route passes through the municipalities of Montenero di Bisaccia, Petacciato, Termoli and Campomarino, integrating with the existing cycling routes and those of ongoing the new construction.

The assignment concerns the design-build contract design of detailed design the cycle infrastructure, with development in BIM environment, coordination of specialized services and drafting of environmental and landscape reports. Following the modifications requested by the Municipality of Termoli, aimed at improving the usability of the route and its integration with the territory, the length of the final-execution project was redefined to 27,241.18 meters, ensuring the achievement of the objectives set out in the PNRR funding.

The project involves the new construction construction of a complex linear infrastructure, structured along the Molise coastline and characterized by the crossing of several waterways through dedicated works. Among the main interventions are a steel bridge over the Trigno river, metal bridges over torrents, canals and collectors, the replacement of existing structures and additional minor works to overcome ditches and canals that are the responsibility of the Consortium for the Drainage of the Lower Molise.

The project is conceived as a strategic intervention for the sustainable and tourist mobility of the territory, aimed at strengthening the cycling network along the Adriatic spine, improving the accessibility of the coastal landscape and promoting a slow and integrated use of the Molise coastline.
